He'll be one of three launch presenters on Apple's new radio station Beats 1, broadcasting from Los Angeles, with Ebro Darden in New York and Rinse FM's Julie Adenuga in London.
I caught up with industry bosses and commentators to find out what they thought about Beats 1 - including Zane's former boss, the controller of Radio 1, Ben Cooper, who told me he was "very intrigued" but "not scared".
